Respect each other.
This should be pretty obvious. Racist, sexist, homophobic and transphobic language is not allowed in OOC posts or chats, and should be warned for in IC ones. If there are problems, Contact this account. There's also an anon-enabled, screened post.
Content warn and community-lock for relevant subjects.
Logs and radio posts dealing with sexual, domestic and/or child abuse should be put behind a cut with a content warning, community-locked and must be handled tastefully. As the MEverse is modeled after pulp adventure novels, plain vanilla violence does not need to be content warned for. Logs with explicit sexual activity should be community locked and warned for.
Tag your entries with the following:
-character's canon: character's name (IE homestuck: gamzee makara) (for original characters put original: [character's name]). This is optional for OOC posts.
-whether the post is open or closed
-what kind of post it is, IE ooc, log, radio, or other (the last being for things that aren't covered by anything else, such as letter exchanges)
-content warnings, if any (IE content warning: domestic abuse)
When you bring in a character, reply on the claimed character post
It can be found here. For now we're going to say multiple versions of the same character are not allowed. We're open to input on this decision though.
Use whatever tense and prose format you want.
Third person prose? First person? Second person? Past tense? Present tense? Brackets? IC chats? It's all good.
Don't be a Sue/powergamer/munchkin
Your character is not all-powerful. If they have genetic or Stalker abilities, they should have drawbacks to balance them out. This is especially true for OCs.
Try to be IC
We're not sticklers about this, but do make the character recognizably the same person as in canon.
Post or reply to an entry once every months
As explained in the FAQ. You're exempt from this if you're on hiatus.
Tag your entries and entries you reply to
Tag your character's name like: Canon: Character's name. Tag the type of entry like: Type: Whatever (IE: log, action, radio, letter, smoke signal, etc). Finally tag whether the log is open, closed, or semi-open.
